The Italian Lymphoma Foundation (FIL) ONLUS carries out its activities through the coordinated work of the following bodies:
The Founders Electors Assembly is the competent body for the approval of the FIL basic documents and for the achievement of our foundation goals.
The Founder Elector, identified in the Director of the structure or in a delegate, is the contact person for the single onco-hematologic centre, who has actively contributed to the FIL research activities as provide by the Statute.
The tasks of Assembly of Founders Electors are:
- Elect every three years the members of the Steering Committee;
- Appoint the Auditor;
- Approve the budget plan and the financial report;
- Express its opinion whenever requested by the Steering Committee;
- Rule and approve the Statute amendments;
- If it is necessary, it will resolve the dissolution of the Foundation and the devolution of its assets in is area of responsibility.
The Steering Committee is the body responsible to decide upon the lines of development and the future projects of the Foundation, outlining its priorities. It approves new proposals or projects of trial and / or research evaluated by the Scientific Commissions. Also, it provides for the administration and management of the Foundation, with economy, effectiveness and efficiency criteria. Within the Committee, members of FIL Presidency and the managers for each Scientific Commission are appointed.
The Steering Committee is composed of 15 members (including the President-in-office and the Past President) plus some experts who can be co-opted (up to a maximum of 5) and that become integral part of the above-mentioned body for the entire period in which it remains in charge. Each member of the Steering Committee has the right to express a vote during the meetings.

FIL President is the legal representative of the foundation and he is responsible for relationship with organizations, institutions, public and private companies and other organizations, in order to establish relations in terms of cooperation and support to FIL initiatives. The President is in office for two years (three years from 2024) and he cannot be re-elected. At the end of his office, he remains a member of the Steering Committee for the next three years as Past-President.
2022-2023
The FIL President for the two-year period 2020-2021 is Dr. Andrés J.M. Ferreri, Vice Director of the Onco-Hematology Medicine Unit and Director of he Lymphoma Unit at the IRCCS Istituto Scientifico San Raffaele in Milano.
FIL Executive Board carries out and checks the scientific and economic activity of the Foundation, in basis of the directives of the Steering Committee.
It is composed of the President, the Vice-President (President-elect for the next three years), the Treasurer (who performs activities related to the financial report) and two other members elected by the Steering Comitee and nominated by the President for specific charges.

The Founders Assembly may appoint as Honorary Presidents researchers or clinicians who stood out for researching in the field of lymphomas, who have contributed to the development of the Foundation. They are part of the Assembly and of the Steering Committee without right to vote.
In 2021 the Honorary President Prof. Luigi Resegotti passed away.
Provides for the verification of financial management, accounting records and cash flows; examines the financial statements by drawing up specific reports. He remains in charge for two years and can be reconfirmed.
The FIL Auditor currently in office is the Accountant Dr. Marco Estienne
STATEMENT
The Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the individual protection regards the processing of personal data (hereinafter GDPR) applicable from 25 May 2018, introduces the figure of the Data Protection Officer, art. 37-39 (DATA PROTECTION OFFICER – DPO).
The GDPR provides for an obligation to the owner (in this case the Foundation in the person of its legal representative pro tempore) or the responsible for processing the data to designate the DPO when the treatment concerns personal data (including health and genetic data).
DATA PROTECTION OFFICER
Italian Lymphomas Foundation carries out the promotion of studies and researches in the field of lymphomas and other lymphoproliferative diseases, through the support of health facilities, to promote the aid, the delivery of health services, the humanization of care and the elaboration and implementation of training, the update and health education programs. These activities consist in the large-scale treatment of different categories of personal data referred to in article 9 of the European Regulation 679/2016. Therefore, FIL must appoint the DPO within the time allowed.
