\"Radiotherapy\"<\/p>\n

Radiotherapy Commission<\/strong> is a specific FIL Commission.<\/p>\n

Radiotherapy is an important therapeutic option\u00a0<\/span><\/span>in the treatment<\/a> of lymphomas<\/a>. I<\/span><\/span>n relation\u00a0<\/span><\/span>to different types of lymphoma\u00a0<\/span><\/span>and to the differen<\/span><\/span>t presentations of the disease, it can be used<\/span><\/span>\u00a0as the sole treatment or in combination with systemic treatments (chemotherapy,\u00a0<\/span><\/span>chemoimmunotherapy<\/span><\/span>). Over the years, there has been a gradual reduction in the volume irradiated and the doses administered, useful to significantly reduce the risk of late toxicities\u00a0<\/span><\/span>of older<\/span><\/span>\u00a0treatment. In fact, thanks to the important technological progress which covered all stages of radiotherapy treatment, modern radiotherapy is now increasingly able to administer the required dose in a very accurate<\/span><\/span>\u00a0way<\/span><\/span>, with more and better savings of surrounding healthy tissue, and with further improvement\u00a0<\/span><\/span>of\u00a0<\/span><\/span>the therapeutic index.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The objectives<\/strong> of\u00a0<\/span><\/span>this Radiotherapy Commission<\/strong> <\/span><\/span>are:<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Disseminate guidelines relating to modern radiotherapy in Lymphomas;\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Promoting initiatives retrospective and prospective of Quality Assurance (QA) in Radiotherapy;<\/li>\n
  3. Cooperate with other FIL\u00a0Commissions\u00a0to contribute\u00a0to the improvement in\u00a0treatments\u00a0of lymphoma;\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Promote analysis regarding radiotherapy\u00a0used in clinical trials;<\/li>\n
  5. Create regional networks for the dissemination of modern radiotherapy inItaly, promoting educational initiatives within the haematological\u00a0and radiotherapy\u00a0communities.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
